Kathy Calcagno, a mother of two children, a 24 year old daughter and an 11 year old son,
Kathy got her start in “Corporate America” with the trust department of a leading national bank, working with affluent families and their children. This lead to a 20+-year career, helping families with their estate planning needs, trust management, and other financial planning areas.

Leaving her “Vice President” title behind, Kathy opened a retail business in September, 2000. Here, Kathy became an expert on the products and services that new parents need to have for their baby and also helped create great bedrooms for their children.

Kathy relies on her experience as a “Mom”, which she believes qualifies her to act as host for this series.

Singlemom turns into Adventuremom

Now that I am a single mom, I have turned into Adventure mom!!

My son wants to try everything!!

Unfortunately, he doesn’t want to go to the SPA. Sigh!!

Sooo…I have learned to do all kinds of things out of my comfort zone, and yes, you can do it too!!

4-wheeling in the sand dunes at Coos Bay. Scared me to death, I almost peed my pants!

Horseback riding in Tucson. Talk about hot. Yeah and love those dusty trails.

Swimming at Wild Waves in Federal Way, Washington.. Had to put on a bathing suit in public, ride big-scary water rides and I don’t even swim!! (did you see the bathing suit in public part????)

Fishing in Central Oregon. Had to get up at oh too early and be on the lake by 7 a.m., worms, fish, cleaning them, frying them up….Had to hire a guide for that!

White water rafting on the Deschutes. Really fun, do not expect to keep that lovely hairdo.

Laser Tag. I am here to tell you, I held my own--thank you very much!!

Basketball, Baseball and Lacrosse Games..Did you know there are no salad bars at the Rose Garden and I really didn’t fit in at $2.00 beer night at PGE Park.

Yes, I could have gone to the SPA, but imagine how dull my life would be without the “Boy” adventures!!
