Okay, where in the world did the last 10 years go? Seriously, looking back at 2000 I had a newborn who would not sleep more than 2 hours at a time and I was needless to say exhausted. Thought I was not going to make it through the sleepless nights but here I am ten years later and that newborn sleeps through the night, walks, talks and actually is never quiet. And not to mention I popped out another baby within that time frame too.
Yesterday my 10 year old came home from school and needed pictures of his life. We started sifting through the boxes (I am supposed to scrapbook these at some point, lol) and the memories just started flowing. I really have trouble remembering specific times but if given a picture of it then the memories come back strong. So, to all you new moms out there take 1,000's of pictures, you will never regret it. I take so many pictures of my kids that when they see me with the camera in-hand they literally lie down and play dead, like I am not going to photograph that ! Of course I am !
So, here I am looking at 2010 and hoping I slow down enough to enjoy the little things right in front of me, like the 5th game in one evening of Guess Who with my seven year old or the 30 questions my 10 year old may ask about a man he saw on a street corner (whom I have never met but according to my son I know everything about), or just the fact my boys are under my roof and not old enough to be out on their own.
Time is flying by, so let's all just take a deep breath, walk a little slower and enjoy our time. Oh, and take LOTS of pictures !
