Alright, so you broke down and decided to let them watch something you're pretty sure will be a bit too scary.
But, it'll be okay, because you'll sit next to your little guy or gal, hold their hand, and explain the scary parts away. Right? WRONG!
You might think you're helping them out, but, guess what. You're apparently making things worse.
Just in time for Halloween, there's yet another new study out. This one has to do with kids who watch shows with their parents.
According to the journal, Child: Care, Health and Development, researches found parents attempts to 'comfort' kids, actually scared them even more!
It even throws out a pretty scary number... how about four times more likely, than children who watch TV alone.
Researchers do point out, while too much nurture can reinforce fearful behavior, the opposite approach, like joking or dismissing a child's fear can be just as negative.
